PERMANENT MAINTENANCE

1. Each member promises to maintain one or more species/populations after his own choice for a period of three years.

2. The member can choose to publish the species maintained in an open list (i.e. the name of the member is known to the other members of the group) or a closed list (i.e. the name of the member is known to the list facilitator only).

SPECIES LIST

There will be two lists:

Without Maintenance – Here each member will list his species list and identify if he wants them included in the ‘open’ or ‘closed’ list.                   .

Maintained List - Here each member lists the species he wishes included in the ‘open’ or ‘closed’ list.

Each member can, at his discretion include all or any the species from his open list  in a “fish & eggs” list for exchange only.

The members maintained species in the ‘open’ list will be known to all other members.

The members maintained species in the ‘closed’ list will be known only to the Facilitator.

2-3 times each year, each member will be asked by the  Facilitator for his species list (the species he has at the moment).

The member at these times informs the Facilitator which species should be placed respectively in the ‘open’ list or the ‘closed’ list (as above).

The member is not obliged to supply other members with fish or eggs from the open list. On the other hand, as the spreading of a species is a major objective, any member is free to ask another member whether he can spare fish or eggs of species from the open list.

GENERAL:

A record of species on the open list and a record of the total number of members keeping each species is accessible to all members on the NMG web-page.

A distribution list about the Maintenance Group will be created for  members correspondence.

Information and records about techniques for maintaining the Nothobranchius species can be created.

The facilitator undertakes not to divulge details of members whose fish are on the ‘closed’ list.
